St. Marys’ Catholic Women’s League (CWL), Windhoek

The Catholic Women’s League was founded by Margaret Fletcher in England in 1906 and was established in South Africa in 1931. The National Council was formed in 1952.

The CWL is affiliated to WUCWO (World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations)

Mary Immaculate, the Mother of God, is the model of our League. Members imitate her obedience to both hearing and acting on the Word of God. We try to follow Mary’s example of bringing Jesus to others by living our faith and in the works of the League.

Our Motto:          “Charity, Work and Loyalty”
